The Student Hotel Opens First Italian Location in Florence
In Florence, The Student Hotel (TSH), established by Charlie MacGregor, has launched TSH Firenze Lavagnini, a project worth 50 million euros that includes the restoration of part of the historic Palazzo del Sonno, which dates back to 1864. The facility spans 20,000 square meters and features 390 accommodations: 50% designated for students, 45% as hotel rooms, and 5% for short-term stays. Guests can enjoy various amenities, such as co-working areas, a DJ bar, a hair salon, a concept store, a vinyl shop, and a rooftop pool with a skybar. The design was a collaborative effort between TSH's team, Rizoma Architecture, and Archea. By the end of 2018, TSH aims to have 10,726 rooms, with new locations planned in cities including Dresden, Bologna, Madrid, Berlin, Delft, Florence Belfiore, Rome, Paris, Porto, Vienna, and Lisbon by 2021.
