The Social Hub Opens Hybrid Hospitality Complex in Florence
The Social Hub Firenze Belfiore opens on February 1, 2025, in Florence. The 40,000 sqm project by Natalini Architetti includes 550 rooms, Tuscany's largest coworking space, restaurants, bars, conference areas, retail, a gym, underground parking (573 spaces), a municipal archive, and a rooftop pool and garden. CEO Charlie MacGregor calls it a €150 million urban regeneration. The site was formerly the 'Lago Belfiore' basin, a void left after a Fiat branch closure and a failed hotel project. The complex connects Viale Belfiore to San Jacopino via a boulevard with shops. A monumental staircase by late architect Adolfo Natalini leads to a public roof garden designed by Antonio Perazzi, featuring 500 sqm of lawn, 3,500 perennials, 600 shrubs, and 55 trees. Interiors by Rizoma reflect TSH's hospitality model. Food & beverage, launching in March, partners with Aldo Settembrini: restaurant Ammodino, bakery Menchetti, and a rooftop bar. The project also includes infrastructure works and a central boulevard accessible from mid-2025. Regional Development Director Elena Cattani emphasizes the public spaces and urban integration. The opening follows TSH's Florence location on Viale Lavagnini (2018) and Bologna (2020); a Rome property is planned for spring 2025.
