The Photo Solstice: Seven Years of Moonlit Sardinia Photography at Fondazione Banco di Sardegna
At the Fondazione Banco di Sardegna in Cagliari, the exhibition 'La luce che impressiona' highlights The Photo Solstice project, a seven-year endeavor featuring both national and international photographers. Curated by Franco Carta and Marco Delogu, this initiative examines Sardinia's cultural and natural legacy. It originated with the Fondazione di Sardegna's acquisition of Plinio de Martiis's 1954 reportage from Barbagia. Commencing in 2018, the project aims to foster artistic excellence and engage youth, with workshops beginning on Asinara, a former penal colony. Among the exhibiting artists are Don McCullin (2023), Henry Cartier-Bresson (1962), and Guy Tillim (2019). The seventh edition, led by Matthew Connors, took place from June 18–22, showcasing nine selected photographers.
