The Others Fair Cancelled, Organizers Open Empty Pavilion to Public

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The Others art fair in Turin has been cancelled due to Italy's new COVID-19 restrictions, which ban all trade fairs. Despite adhering to health measures and securing the spacious Padiglione 3 at Torino Esposizioni, the fair cannot proceed. Organizers Roberto Casiraghi and Paola Rampini announced that the pavilion will still be open to the public on November 6–8, 2020, from 11:00 to 18:00, by free online reservation. The building, designed by Ettore Sottsass senior in 1938 with Pier Luigi Nervi, is recognized by the Getty Foundation as a 20th-century architectural masterpiece and has been unused for years. Inside, a large cube will display the history of Torino Esposizioni, inviting visitors to write or draw their wishes for the pavilion's future. The Others is the latest Turin fair to cancel; Artissima shifted to a physical program at Fondazione Torino Musei and digital projects, NESXT cancelled on October 17, and Flashback opted for a diffused format with local galleries hosting colleagues from November 5–8. The association had previously cancelled The Phair due to the pandemic.
