The Other Side: A Distance Art Project Debuts on Rai5
On June 25, Rai5 will broadcast The Other Side, a video creation combining dance, music, and visual arts produced by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, with support from Collezione Maramotti in Reggio Emilia and in collaboration with Ravenna Festival. The project follows 1 meter CLOSER, presented in April for World Dance Day. Choreography by Saul Daniele Ardillo features 15 dancers from Aterballetto performing to a Beethoven trio by the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini (violin, cello, piano). The performance interacts with Love (2017), a painting by Luisa Rabbia from Collezione Maramotti, exploring human-environment connection. Dramaturg Simone Giorgi, who worked alongside Ardillo, explains the concept: a wall separating two rooms and two people, close yet unreachable—a metaphor made tangible through the viewer's gaze.
