‘The Nue Black Aesthetic’ at London’s Design Museum in 2026

From November 2026 to August 2027, London's Design Museum will present ‘The Nue Black Aesthetic,’ an exhibition curated by Charlene Prempeh and Tiya Dahyabhai. Featuring more than 100 pieces from 16 contemporary designers, including Simone Brewster and Samuel Ross, the event pays homage to the Black Aesthetic movement of the 1960s and its evolution in the 1980s. Attendees can explore six thematic sections, view a film by Samona Olanipekun, and admire a striking chandelier by Ini Archibong. The exhibition seeks to celebrate the rich diversity and unique perspectives in Black design across the UK, challenging traditional design narratives.
