The platform aggregates works from public domain collections, including a 19th-century beaded bag attributed to the Lakota, ancient Etruscan artifacts, and objects spanning thousands of years from regions such as Germany, Spain, India, and Egypt. Users can click on any artifact to access available information about the artist, title, and date, along with a link to the originating museum collection. For images with copyright restrictions, they are provided under fair use, available at low resolution for browsing and educational purposes only, not for reproduction. The creators state their goal is to eventually index all museum art worldwide.
