The Infinite Woman at Villa Carmignac Explores Feminine Representation

Curated by Alona Pardo, The Infinite Woman exhibition at Villa Carmignac on Porquerolles island, Hyères, presents over eighty works by more than sixty artists. The show examines how women have been depicted from ancient myths to contemporary art, challenging patriarchal norms and Western beauty standards. Thematically organized, it includes sections on myths and monsters, femme fatales, motherhood, desire, cyborgs, and sirens. Featured artists range from Sandro Botticelli and Pablo Picasso to Louise Bourgeois, Wangechi Mutu, and Zanele Muholi. Media include painting, drawing, photography, video, collage, sculpture, ceramics, and textiles.
