The House of Sounds & Visions Festival at Ex-Dogana, Rome
The festival The House of Sounds & Visions, curated by Marta Fantini and Caterina Tomeo and organized in collaboration with the German electronic music label Raster (formerly Raster-Noton), explores the relationship between sound and vision through audiovisual installations, live media performances, DJ sets, and concerts. The event takes place from May 11 to 13, 2018, at the recently restored Ex-Dogana in Rome, with installations open until May 27. Notable works include the large laser installation '405 Fields – Lasers in Space' by the Roman collective Ultravioletto and the site-specific piece 'Fen Fires' by German artist Grisha Lichtenberger, featuring a ten-meter wall evoking a diorama with natural and vegetal illusions through perspective, light, and sound effects. Among the most anticipated musical performances is that of German artist Olaf Bender, known as Byetone, a co-founder of Raster-Noton alongside Carsten Nicolai and Frank Bretschneider.
