The House: New Milanese Exhibition Cycle in Architect's Home

Architect Michela Genghini has launched The House, a new exhibition cycle in her private residence and studio in Milan's Porta Venezia district. The project, curated by Irene Sofia Comi, will host two exhibitions per year dedicated to emerging art, blurring the lines between private and public space. The inaugural show, I'll be home tonight, opens June 19, 2019, featuring a dual solo presentation by artists Hermann Bergamelli (born 1990, Bergamo) and Fabio Ranzolin (born 1993, Vicenza). The exhibition runs through October 15, 2019, with public access one day per week or by appointment. A second exhibition is planned for November-December 2019. The project aims to create intimate encounters between art and audience within a lived domestic environment, with collateral events including talks and gatherings around a table. Comi describes the space as stimulating for its dual nature as home and studio, and for its location in a neighborhood known for Art Nouveau facades. The curatorial approach emphasizes juxtaposition between real life and artworks, treating the house as a garment that the exhibition wears temporarily.
