The Hellp’s Noah Dillon and Chandler Lucy on Legacy, Authenticity, and Major Label Success

artist · 2026-04-28

The Hellp, comprising vocalist Noah Dillon and producer Chandler Ransom Lucy, are riding high on their most successful months, including two sold-out shows at London’s Outernet and a European tour supporting their new album Riviera, their second for Atlantic Records. Despite this, Dillon expresses frustration that interviews focus on their influence rather than their artistic vision. The band, formed in 2015, underwent a creative breakthrough with 2021’s Enemy EP and signed to Atlantic in 2023. Their sophomore album LL was miscategorized as part of an “indie sleaze” revival, leading to ridicule. Riviera aims for darker, more authentic songwriting, blending heartland rock, electroclash, and anthemic indie. Dillon, also a fashion photographer who shot Rosalía’s Lux artwork, acknowledges betraying his underground ideals for fame but defends the leap. Lucy, who grew up poor in California, insists their worst days are others’ dreams, and the band believes in their legacy. The interview appears in Another Man’s Summer/Autumn 2026 issue, on sale from April 30, 2026.
