The Hardcore Football: mostra sul calcio a Spaziomensa Roma

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Starting September 13, 2024, 'The Hardcore Football' will be showcased at Spaziomensa in Rome. Curated by Giulia Carpentieri and Arianna Tremolanti, the exhibition explores the rituals, traditions, and identities associated with soccer through various installations, paintings, and performances. The venue on Via Salaria will be transformed into a stadium atmosphere, complete with chants, banners, and contemporary interpretations of traditional rites. Featured artists include Giovanni De Cataldo, born in Taranto in 1956, and Andrea Luzi, born in Ancona in 1997. Frankie Wah, a guitarist for Manuel Agnelli and a former member of Little Pieces Of Marmelade, will provide the hardcore punk soundtrack. The opening will feature choreographer and performer Ludovico Paladini, born in Rome in 1998. The curators describe the exhibition as an ironic and decadent tribute to the 'football dream,' linking soccer with baroque underground themes through a hardcore punk sound motif.
