The First Slam Dunk film arrives in Italian theaters in May 2023
The historic manga Slam Dunk, created by Takehiko Inoue and first published in 1990 on Weekly Shōnen Jump, has been adapted into an animated film titled The First Slam Dunk. Directed and written by Inoue himself, the movie focuses on the character Ryōta Miyagi, a playmaker for the Shohoku high school basketball team. The film was released in Japan in December 2022 and will debut in Italy from May 11 to 17, 2023, with a dubbed version. An exclusive preview in original language will take place on May 10. Italy is the first European country to screen the film, distributed by Anime Factory. Slam Dunk is a seminal spokon (sports manga) series about basketball, following the story of delinquent Hanamichi Sakuragi who joins the team to impress a girl.
