The End of Oak Street to Follow Warner Bros. PVOD Strategy, Likely Digital Debut Sept. 15

The End of Oak Street, a dinosaur thriller starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, opened in theaters this weekend and is projected to earn $21 million at the domestic box office, debuting at No. 3. The film, written and directed by David Robert Mitchell and produced by J.J. Abrams, has an $80 million production budget. Warner Bros. typically follows a five-weekend theatrical-to-PVOD window, which would place the digital release on September 15, a Tuesday. The studio's recent release, Evil Dead Burn, however, arrived on PVOD after only four weekends (25 days) on August 4. Given the larger budget of The End of Oak Street, it is expected to follow the standard five-weekend model. The film will be available on platforms like Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video, and YouTube Movies & TV, with purchase prices ranging from $19.99 to $29.99 and rentals from $14.99 to $24.99 for 48 hours. Following the Pay-1 window, the film is expected to stream on HBO Max around October 30, based on the typical 77-day theatrical-to-SVOD window for Warner Bros. releases. The plot follows a couple and their children in 1982 suburban Detroit whose neighborhood is transported to prehistoric times, facing dinosaurs. The film is rated PG-13.
