The Digital Art Mile: First Digital Art Fair at Art Basel

The Digital Art Mile, a dedicated digital art fair within Art Basel, debuts from June 12 to 16, 2024, in two buildings near the main fair and Photo Basel. Organized by ArtMeta and conceived by Georg Bak and Roger Haas, it features international galleries and platforms such as Objkt.com, fx(hash), TAEX, and the Sigg Art Foundation. Highlights include Matter & Data curated by Kika Nicolela at Objkt.com, with works by Monica Piloni and Viola Rama; a generative piece by Jonas Lund at fx(hash); a solo show by Krista Kim on her Continuum series at TAEX; and a group exhibition of digital and AI pioneers including Grégory Chatonsky, Justin Aversano, Ben Elliot, and Bernar Venet at Sigg Art Foundation. Italian company Cinello, founded by John Blem and Franco Losi, presents works by the multidisciplinary collective fuse*, focusing on botanical illustration. The event marks a growing integration of digital art into the international fair circuit, following precedents like Art Dubai's digital section.
