The Collector is Present returns as precursor to Barcelona Gallery Weekend

The fourth edition of The Collector is Present, organized by ArtBarcelona. Galeries within Barcelona Gallery Weekend, runs from May 14 to 17. The program features 19 collectors and 15 galleries across Barcelona, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, and Santa Margarida i els Monjos. Each gallery pairs with a collector to co-develop an exhibition or discursive project. Highlights include Antonio Toca's 'Arqueologías presentes' at ADN Galeria, Jordi Mitjà's found-slide installation at Bombon Projects, and Jordi Soley's 'ex-collecting' intervention at Palmadotze. Roberto Ruiz presents a selection of works at Prats Nogueras Blanchard. Conversations at FUGA feature Isidre and Jordi Bohigas on patronage; at Pigment Gallery, Francesca Poza's practice is discussed. Debates at Dilalica address international visibility, at Escat Gallery young collecting, and at SELTZ by Ritter Ferrer gender biases in the market. Urban walks include one by Suburbia Contemporary. The program aims to open private collecting processes to the public, reinforcing transparency. Barcelona Gallery Weekend itself is scheduled for September 17–20.
