The Broad Museum announces September 20 opening with February preview featuring sound and light installations

The Broad, a new museum founded by collectors Eli and Edythe Broad, will open to the public on September 20. A special preview event titled 'Sky-lit: Volume, Light and Sound at the Broad' is scheduled for February 15, featuring two temporary audio and visual installations. These works will be displayed in the museum's unfinished third-floor gallery. Swedish composer and sound artist BJ Nilsen has created an audio installation, while Los Angeles artist Yann Novak presents a piece combining sound and light. Admission to the permanent collection will be free when the museum opens in September, though some future special exhibitions may require paid tickets. Tickets for the February preview go on sale tomorrow. The museum's opening represents a significant addition to Los Angeles's cultural landscape.
