The Blank: Bergamo's Cultural Network Celebrates Contemporary Art

Established in 2010, The Blank is a cultural organization located in Bergamo, Italy, dedicated to advancing contemporary art through partnerships between public and private sectors. It encourages cooperation among artists, the community, and institutions such as GAMeC, Accademia Carrara, and Museo Bernareggi. Notable member galleries include Traffic Gallery and Thomas Brambilla. Among its initiatives is The Blank ArtDate, an annual three-day festival, with its sixth edition held in 2016, themed "La città dei destini incrociati," drawing inspiration from Italo Calvino's literary work and incorporating tarot cards. Since its inception in 2011, The Blank Residency has welcomed over 100 international artists and collaborates with Fondazione Banca Popolare di Bergamo and GAMeC, including the third iteration of Project Proposal Residency.
