The Blank ArtDate 2018: Bergamo's Contemporary Art Festival Returns with 30+ Events

The eighth edition of The Blank ArtDate, a weekend-long contemporary art festival, takes place in Bergamo from May 25 to 27, 2018. Organized by The Blank association, the festival features over 30 events, 45 artists, and 5 institutions. The theme 'Frequenze' explores repetition, perception, and participation through audio, video, performance, and talk. Highlights include: The Blank Decoder at Ospedale Papa Giovanni XXIII with video art by Yuri Ancarani, Oscar Giaconia, Hanne Lippard, and Driant Zeneli; animated films by Maik Hagens presented by Bergamo Film Meeting; Jan Fabre's works from the Banca Popolare di Bergamo collection; Matteo Nasini's sleep-performance 'Sparkling Matter' at Palazzo Terzi; Tea Andreoletti's guided tour 'Abbiate Fede, Crederete' reinterpreting city architecture; and Sissi's artist-designed menu 'Onnivora Palette' at The Blank headquarters. The festival also includes the opening of INV., a corridor dedicated to the legacy of Galleria Fumagalli, and Art Up, an initiative by UBI Banca offering guided tours of its art collection.
