The Act of Quad's Mumbai Apartment Evokes Kerala Backwaters with Green Flooring and Curved Walls
The Act of Quad, a studio located in Mumbai, has finalized the renovation of 'A Borrowed Memory,' a multi-generational apartment drawing inspiration from Kerala's lily pads. The design incorporates green flooring that reflects the lakes and lagoons of southern India. Founders Priyanka Itadkar and Falguni Bhatia transformed sharp corners into smooth, lime-washed walls for a couple and their two elderly grandparents. Custom furniture features wavy dining chairs and a jade-toned clay coffee table. The living area showcases a light green sofa and a hand-carved timber pillar sourced from Kerala. The grandparents’ bedroom promotes tranquility with soft hues, while a curved wall enhances bathroom accessibility. Established in 2019, the studio has undertaken various projects in Mumbai.
