Thaddaeus Ropac Hosts Exhibition for 60 Emerging Artists in Pantin

Thaddaeus Ropac is organizing a group exhibition at his Parisian space in Pantin from September 12 to 26, 2020, dedicated to 60 emerging artists. The show aims to support artists and galleries affected by the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The 60 artists are selected by the committee of Jeune Création, an association founded in 1949 that supports emerging artists. The exhibition will feature performance, photography, and video, reflecting a broad spectrum of contemporary styles and languages. All proceeds from artwork sales go directly to the artists and their galleries. Ropac stated, 'This is an unprecedented moment for so many people, but within our art community, it is particularly challenging for the next generation of artists and young galleries. By offering our largest space and full infrastructure to present the works of 60 young artists, we can support those in our community who need it most.' The venue is a former early 20th-century factory converted into an exhibition space for large-scale works. This initiative follows similar pandemic-era support efforts like David Zwirner's Platform project and the HireArtists website.
