Tesla Recalls 14,500 Model Y SUVs Over Missing Weight Labels

Tesla is recalling more than 14,500 Model Y SUVs because an automated scanning tool at its Fremont factory failed to detect missing weight certification labels for nearly six months, according to federal safety regulators. The recall affects vehicles manufactured between late 2023 and early 2024. The missing labels, which indicate the vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating and other specifications, are required by U.S. safety standards. Tesla will replace the labels free of charge. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) oversees the recall.
