Terrafuoco: Contemporary Ceramics Exhibition in Terlizzi, Puglia

The Michele De Napoli Civic Art Gallery in Terlizzi, near Bari, is hosting the group show 'Terrafuoco', curated by Michela Laporta. The exhibition features works by 23 artists who participated in the first edition of the International Competition for Artistic and Craft Ceramics 'Terrafuoco/Terlizzi porta un fiore', promoted by the municipality of Terlizzi and organized by the association 'Eclettica Cultura dell’Arte', with artistic direction by Piero Di Terlizzi and general coordination by Giusy Caroppo, art director of the Circuito del Contemporaneo. The Design and Craft section includes works by Nicola D’Aniello, winner of this category with his 'Vaso sonoro', while the Sculpture and Installation section features the winning work 'Fiori interiori' by Ezia Mitolo. Terlizzi has been recognized as a 'municipality of established ceramic tradition' by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, due to its skilled artisans, ancient kilns, and the oldest workshop in Puglia. Through the 'Terrafuoco/Terlizzi porta un fiore' event, the city aims to strengthen its role not only in traditional ceramics but also in contemporary art, particularly with the planned contemporary ceramics section of the Ceramics Museum.
