Terme di Caracalla lit up with Italian flag colors during pandemic
The north facade of the Baths of Caracalla in Rome is illuminated with the colors of the Italian flag until the end of the health emergency. The initiative was promoted by the Soprintendenza Speciale di Roma and realized in collaboration with Acea. Superintendent Daniela Porro stated that lighting the Severan baths with the tricolor is a sign and invitation to unity in a critical moment for the country. She noted that following the example of historic palaces and monuments, illuminating the great facade of Caracalla—a monumental backdrop closing the south side of the historic city—is a good omen for the reopening of cultural venues as soon as it is possible in complete safety.
