Tenuta Casenuove transforms into an art winery with residencies and a gallery

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Philippe Austruy, a collector and entrepreneur, has relaunched Tenuta Casenuove in Tuscany as an art winery. Since acquiring the estate in 2015, he expanded vineyards from 16 to 30 hectares, redesigned the cellar with Hydea architects, and launched an annual residency program with Galleria Continua. The first resident artist, Pascale Marthine Tayou, created ten crystal totems representing the estate's workers. A permanent collection includes works by Loris Cecchini and Anish Kapoor, with a temporary exhibition space currently showing Susanna Pilar. In Panzano in Chianti, a new gallery opened in September 2020, featuring Loris Cecchini. Austruy also runs a similar art program at his Peyrassol estate in Provence, with works by Ugo Rondinone, Dan Graham, Bertrand Lavier, Daniel Buren, and Carsten Höller.
