Tencent unveils first flagship AI model HY3-Preview with 295 billion parameters
Tencent has unveiled its inaugural flagship AI model, HY3-Preview, which operates as a closed-source system featuring 295 billion parameters. This model is notably smaller than the recent trillion-parameter models, diverging from the prevailing trend. Announced on Thursday, it matches leading Chinese models but still falls short of the top US models from OpenAI and Google DeepMind. In contrast, Tencent's previous flagship, HY 2.0, launched in early December, boasted over 400 billion parameters. Developed for practical business applications, HY3-Preview resulted from a collaboration between Tencent's Hunyuan foundational model team and the Yuanbao AI application team. It is already integrated into Tencent's key AI products, including the consumer app Yuanbao and the coding assistant CodeBuddy.
