Tencent Expands Overseas AI Push with Global Rollout of Hy3 Model

Tencent has broadened the global reach of its premier AI model, Hy3, a pivotal advancement in its international AI initiatives. This expansion, revealed on Wednesday, allows developers, businesses, and users around the world to access Hy3 via three platforms: WorkBuddy, Tencent Design Miora, and TokenHub. Users on WorkBuddy can utilize Hy3 at no cost until August 31. This follows the model's official introduction last month and is the first significant update since former OpenAI researcher Ya Shunyu joined Tencent. Poshu Yeung, the senior vice-president of Tencent Cloud and head of international business, emphasized that Hy3 allows organizations to transition from AI trials to practical, reliable, and scalable applications. Tencent noted that Hy3's API call volume surged over 68 times compared to its predecessor, and it led the global large language model usage rankings on OpenRouter within its first week. This initiative highlights Tencent's goal to establish a competitive presence in the global AI landscape, utilizing its cloud capabilities and enterprise solutions.
