Ten Italian Artists Reimagine the Capitoline Wolf for Rome's Aurelian Walls

exhibition · 2026-04-26

There's an exciting public art project called 'Le 10 Lupe di Roma' happening in Rome, which is the next step of Spazio Taverna's initiative along the Aurelian Walls. Starting on October 10, 2025, and running through November, it will feature ten contemporary Italian artists, each reimagining the iconic Lupa Capitolina on banners placed at ten historical gates. Marco Bassan and Ludovico Pratesi are curating this event, with support from Rome's Assessorato alla Cultura. Artists participating include Camilla Alberti, Ruth Beraha, and others. Plus, the public can vote online for the 'Lupa Contemporanea dell'anno 2025/2026.' This follows the earlier project '10 Porte del Futuro' and references Christo’s 1974 wrapping of Porta Pinciana.
