Temporary Museum by the Vistula Opens in Warsaw
In the historic Powiśle district along the Vistula River, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw has opened a temporary venue named the Museum by the Vistula. This 600-square-meter facility, which occupies two levels, features a café, a bookstore, an educational center, and an outdoor space. Designed by Austrian architect Adolf Krischanitz, the building previously served as the Temporäre Kunsthalle in Berlin from 2008 to 2010 and has been repurposed with the assistance of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21) foundation. The inaugural exhibition, "The Beguiling Siren Is Thy Crest," showcases works from artists such as Pablo Picasso and Louise Bourgeois, running until June 18, 2017. This temporary museum will remain active until the permanent Museum of Modern Art is expected to be completed in 2020.
