TemPolor's Melo-D AI Guitar Turns Humming into Playable Tabs
TemPolor has unveiled Melo-D, a compact AI-powered foldable guitar that replaces traditional music training with visual prompts and AI-assisted composition. The instrument features a hinged body that collapses to backpack size, a 2.4-inch LCD touchscreen, and illuminated fret markers with color-coded 'Rainbow Strings' for real-time guidance. Its AI Jam mode generates backing tracks by selecting tones, genres, and vibes, while 'Hum-to-Solo' converts hummed melodies into synchronized guitar arrangements. Uploaded songs can be transformed into simplified tablature via AI Tab system. Hardware includes built-in speakers, headphone support, USB-C recording, and expandable sound libraries with piano, guzheng, percussion, and synth voices. A default seven-chord layout expands to twenty-one chords. The project was developed by TemPolor, founded by Jason Jia, with AI lead Blank Gong and hardware lead Li Tian.
