Tempo Irreale: 50-Meter Sculpture-Writing Installation at Cavallerizza Reale
A monumental installation titled 'Tempo Irreale' by Enrico Iuliano (Turin, 1968) has been unveiled in the long wing of the fourth floor of Cavallerizza Reale, a 22,000 sqm UNESCO World Heritage site in central Turin. The project, realized in collaboration with collector Marco Albeltaro, merges sculpture and writing into a single artistic endeavor. The installation consists of 16 sculptural elements, each containing a text by Albeltaro on the concept of writing in the contemporary world. The 50-meter-long aesthetic and reflective path invites the public to question the meaning of writing today, while the installation itself interrogates sculpture as both object and artistic idea. This project completes Iuliano's solo exhibition 'Tempo Reale' at Riccardo Costantini Contemporary, running until April 14. It is part of the GPL (Grandi Progetti Leggeri) initiative, conceived by artists Anna Ippolito and Marzio Zorio within the Cavallerizza Visual Arts group, in collaboration with Valentina Addabbo, Viola Gesmundo, Jacopo Mandich, Tonichina, Primavera, and Michele Di Erre. GPL aims to create site-specific monumental works in the Cavallerizza Reale spaces, which have been occupied since 2014 by artists and citizens committed to preserving its architectural heritage from sale to private entities by the municipality.
