Tehran Galleries Close After Israeli Strikes, London Space Hosts Community Meal
After missile strikes by Israel on Tehran last Friday, galleries in the city have stopped all activities indefinitely. The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has put a stop to gallery exhibitions, theater shows, and music events. Shirin Art Gallery has postponed exhibitions featuring textile artist Leila Yaghoubi and painter Mazyar Tahouri, which were set for June 13. Laleh Gallery cancelled its group show "New Saghakhaneh," focused on the Saqqakhaneh movement. Bavan Gallery announced its closure on Instagram, expressing grief during these tough times. The Iranian Artists Forum will also remain closed starting June 14, with no date for reopening. Meanwhile, on June 14 in London, Ab-Anbar gallery organized a community lunch. Iran Air reported on June 15 that key artifacts from museums were moved to safe storage.
