TEFAF New York 2026: Art, Jewelry, and Prefab Homes at Park Avenue Armory

festival-fair · 2026-05-15

The 12th annual TEFAF New York fair took place at the Park Avenue Armory from May 15 to 19, 2026, featuring 88 galleries from 14 countries. The VIP preview on May 14 drew wealthy collectors and their advisors, with a Mercedes-Maybach parked outside awaiting purchases. Highlights included Kathleen Ryan's 'Bad Fruit' sculptures encrusted with pearls and semiprecious stones at Gagosian, and Cai Guo-Qiang's gunpowder paintings at White Cube, which sold 11 of 12 works. Galerie Patrick Seguin offered demountable houses by Jean Prouvé, shipped from Eastern France. Sheila Hicks's large-scale textiles were shown at Demisch Danant. Among blue-chip offerings were David Hockney's 'Dancers with Audience and Orchestra, August 2025' at Annely Juda Fine Art, and a John Chamberlain sculpture priced at $250,000. Hauser & Wirth presented a subdued booth of Vilhelm Hammershøi's melancholic interiors. Sales included three Eva Helene Pade paintings to US institutions for $186,000–$233,000, and a 3,300-year-old Egyptian stele of Thutmose IV sold by David Aaron for $608,000.
