TEFAF New York 2024 Opens with Strong Sales and Celebrity Attendance
On May 9, 2024, the Park Avenue Armory hosted the tenth edition of TEFAF New York, which kicked off with a bustling preview. Approximately 90 exhibitors are participating, with nine making their debut. Among the attendees were notable figures such as Woody Allen, Leonardo DiCaprio, Martha Stewart, and Vera Wang, alongside more than fifty museum directors and curators. Early transactions included a Pablo Picasso painting sold by Almine Rech for between $1.8 and $2 million, and a Park Seo-bo piece sold by Tina Kim for $1.5 million. Sean Kelly Gallery reported at least seven sales, featuring an Alec Soth photograph priced at $135,000. The event will continue until May 14, 2024.
