TEFAF New York 2018 Highlights: Courbet, Schiele, and Picasso Lead the Fair

TEFAF New York returns for its fall edition from October 27 to 31, 2018, with a strong lineup of galleries specializing in Old Masters, modern, and contemporary art. Among the highlights, Talabardon & Gautier presents Gustave Courbet's 'View of Saintes, Seen from Lormont' (1862), while Rob Smeets Gallery offers Jacopo Tintoretto's 'Portrait of the Cardinal Marcantonio da Mula' (circa 1562-63). Richard Nagy Ltd. features Egon Schiele's 'Portrait of a Gentleman – Carl Reininghaus' (1910), and Thomas Salis brings Pablo Picasso's 'Verre et carte à jouer' (1914). Galleria Carlo Virgilio shows Medardo Rosso's 'Gavroche' (1883), and Antonacci Lapiccirella Fine Art presents Giovanni Boldini's double-sided 'Portrait of a Lady' / 'Nude of a Lady'. Robilant + Voena exhibits Artemisia Gentileschi's 'Allegory of Fame' (1630-35), and Wildenstein & Co. Inc. shows Pierre Bonnard's 'The Blue Dress: Two Women and a Basket of Fruit' (circa 1922). The fair also sees participation from modern and contemporary galleries such as Galerie Gmurzynska, Simon Lee Gallery, Pace Gallery, Almine Rech, and Sprüth Magers. Meanwhile, the next TEFAF Maastricht is scheduled for March 16-24, 2019, with 277 exhibitors including 38 new entries covering 7,000 years of art history.
