TEFAF Maastricht 2025 generated €86.4 million for Dutch economy, Deloitte report finds

A Deloitte study commissioned by TEFAF reveals the 2025 edition of the fair generated €86.4 million in total economic impact for the Netherlands, with €52.4 million in direct spending and €34 million in indirect effects. Maastricht and its region captured €37.9 million of this value. The 275 participating galleries contributed €10 million directly, including €6 million for stand construction and €4 million for logistics, insurance, and travel. Over 41,000 visitors attended, 79% non-residents from 75 countries, spending approximately €15 million on fair admission, hospitality, dining, shopping, and leisure. Tax revenue from visitor spending and art sales was conservatively estimated at €9 million nationally. The fair also generated an advertising value equivalent (EAV) of €5.6 million, reaching a potential audience of 1.3 billion people. The 2026 TEFAF Summit, organized with the Netherlands Commission for UNESCO, focused on the theme "Beyond Economic Impact: Rethinking Culture in Public Policy," exploring culture's transformative power on social development and well-being, including its role in health and mental wellness. The summit aimed to integrate arts more strongly into public policy in the Netherlands and internationally.
