festival-fair · 2026-04-27

TEFAF, the world's most prestigious art, antiques, and design fair, has announced its first TEFAF Summit and a special loan exhibition in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture and Venetian Heritage. The 37th edition of the fair will take place at the Maastricht Exhibition & Conference Centre in the Netherlands from March 9 to 14, featuring ten new exhibitors and a curated section. The summit, scheduled for March 11, will focus on cultural heritage protection, addressing challenges such as conflict and climate change. Participants include scholars, experts, and stakeholders from partner organizations like the Dutch UNESCO Commission, Cultural Emergency Response, and the World Monuments Fund. The loan exhibition, curated by Toto Bergamo Rossi (director of Venetian Heritage), chairman Peter Marino (New York), and president Valentina Nasi (Venice), will showcase three works from the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti alla Ca' d'Oro museum: a marble double portrait by Tullio Lombardo, a bronze relief by Riccio depicting the Alms of Saint Martin, and a panel by Jan van Eyck and workshop showing the Crucifixion. The exhibition aims to promote the museum's permanent collection, which Venetian Heritage has helped restore alongside the Palazzo Grimani Museum and Ca' d'Oro itself, with the Fondazione Giulio e Giovanna Sacchetti.
