TEFAF 2023 New York Announces 91 Exhibitors and Museum Restoration Fund Recipients
TEFAF (The European Fine Art Foundation) has announced the 91 exhibitors for its 2023 New York edition, taking place from May 12 to 16 at Park Avenue Armory. The fair includes 13 first-time participants and represents 13 countries. Italian galleries include Tornabuoni Arte, Massimo De Carlo, Continua, Galleria d’Arte Maggiore g.a.m., and Mazzoleni. Meanwhile, the 2023 Museum Restoration Fund will support two projects: Neue Galerie New York will restore Egon Schiele's "Town among Greenery (The Old City III)" (1917), donated in 2006 and formerly in the collection of Otto and Marguerite Manley, Jewish collectors who fled Vienna in 1937. The Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA) will restore Michaelina Wautier's "Two Girls as Saints Agnes and Dorothea" (ca. 1650), in its collection since 1910 and correctly attributed to the artist only in 2003. TEFAF President Hidde van Seggelen emphasized the fund's role in preserving art for future generations. The main TEFAF Maastricht edition runs from March 11 to 19, 2023 at MECC.
