Technogym's Unica Celebrates 40 Years with 'Unica Mente' Installation at Salone del Mobile 2026

Technogym marks the 40th anniversary of its Unica wellness equipment with the art installation 'Unica Mente,' curated by Felice Limosani and presented at Technogym Milano during Salone del Mobile 2026. The installation features 'Shaping Icons,' where forty notable figures from sports, music, film, architecture, and business share personal stories about Unica. Participants include athletes Rafa Nadal, Charles Leclerc, Fernando Alonso, Marc Márquez, and Federica Brignone; artists Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, Jovanotti, Fiorello, Michelle Hunziker, and Biagio Antonacci; architect Antonio Citterio; director Gabriele Muccino; sports executive Giovanni Malagò; and entrepreneurs Remo Ruffini and Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. Each participant selects a school or charitable organization to receive a Unica unit as a donation, transforming the anniversary celebration into a social legacy project. Unica was originally designed in 1986 by Nerio Alessandri in a garage in Cesena, creating the 'home wellness' category with a compact, multi-exercise system that remains unchanged in its core biomechanical form. The digital ecosystem of the Technogym App has expanded the user experience without altering the original design. The installation explores themes of health culture, prevention, and daily self-care as non-negotiable conditions for excellence, referencing classical ideas from Pindar and Italo Calvino about iconic forms that endure while changing their surrounding world.
