Teatro di Roma Launches 2020 Program Focused on Artistic Residencies

other · 2026-04-27

The Teatro di Roma has launched a new program starting November 18, 2020, centered on production, artistic residencies, and hospitality, despite the suspension imposed by the recent DPCM. The initiative aims to give continuity to artistic work while rethinking modes of connection, representation, and vision. The theater's spaces are hosting artists whose programming was suspended, along with independent spaces Angelo Mai, Carrozzerie N.O.T., and Fivizzano27. Key residencies include Enzo Cosimi's 'Coefore Rock & Roll', Da.Re – Dance Research, Deflorian/Tagliarini, Frosini/Timpano, and Marta Gilmore. Silvia Rampelli, winner of the 2018 Ubu Prize, is working on a new research project 'Body Farm' and revisiting themes from her work 'Abstract', which debuted at India in February 2020. Marina Donatone continues with 'LOOK MA, NO HANDS_a way to go', while Giorgina Pi and Bluemotion explore the myth of Tiresias through Kate Tempest's poetry. 'casadargilla' presents 'Il Ministero della Solitudine' in collaboration with Carrozzerie N.O.T., and Emilia Verginelli with Fivizzano27 works on 'Lourdes'. Motus is conducting a workshop for 'Tutto Brucia'. At Teatro Argentina, Giorgio Barberio Corsetti's production of Kafka's 'La Metamorfosi' is in final rehearsals, awaiting reopening. The new direction is led by Pier Francesco Pinelli, appointed by the board of directors.
