TeamLab unveils interactive Megaliths in the Bath House Ruins in Kyushu

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Japanese collective TeamLab has unveiled a new interactive installation titled Megaliths in the Bath House Ruins. The work features large parallelepiped structures emerging from the ground at various angles, resembling prehistoric megaliths. It is installed in an abandoned bathhouse within Mifuneyama Rakuen park on Kyushu Island. The installation generates real-time images using custom software that changes in response to human movement. TeamLab states that every moment is unique and cannot be seen twice, emphasizing the generative nature of the project. As with many of their works, primary inspiration comes from natural elements such as waterfalls, flowers, and wind-blown plants.
