TeamLab's Digital Flowers Bloom in São Paulo

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Since January 25, 2023, the international collective teamLab has been presenting the exhibition "Impermanent Flowers Floating in an Eternal Sea" at Farol Santander São Paulo, a multicultural hub in the city center. The show explores how humans understand the world, boundaries, and perception through the concept of Ultrasubjective Space, which eliminates a fixed viewpoint to blur the line between viewer and artwork. Screens in these works do not act as barriers; instead, the perspective moves with the spectator, who can walk freely while images change in real time. A central theme is the cyclical nature of life, exemplified in "Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity," where flowers undergo endless cycles of life and death, changing daily with seasons and real-time sunlight. The images are generated by a computer program, making each moment unique and unrepeatable. The exhibition runs until May 21, 2023, at Rua João Brícola 24.
