Tea Time: New Format Blends Art, Performance, and Conversation in La Spezia
Tea Time is a new format within the FuoriLuogo festival in La Spezia, running from November 21, 2020 to May 7, 2021. It combines tea, conversations, live performances, and boundary-crossing events, aiming to foster dialogue between different artistic languages. The festival's eleventh edition is titled Shock in my town. Tea Time invites the public every Sunday to have tea with artists, curators, intellectuals, and scholars, alongside live performances and talks. The program includes a conversation on December 19 with Sara Fgaier, Eva Fabbris, and Francesca Cattoi around the screening of Fgaier's film Gli Anni; a performance by Jacopo Benassi titled UNISEX on February 13, in dialogue with You were nothing but wind by Motus/Silvia Calderoni on February 12; and a conversation on March 6 between artist Jacopo Miliani and writer/critic Walter Siti on Pier Paolo Pasolini, titled Le nuvole si sprofondano lucide, in dialogue with Questo è il tempo in cui attendo la grazia by Fabio Condemi/Gabriele Portoghese on March 5. The events take place at Il Dialma, an urban creative workshop. Tea is included in the symbolic entry fee of 1 euro to create an intimate and informal atmosphere. Andrea Cerri, part of the artistic direction team with Renato Bandoli and Michela Lucenti, stated that Tea Time aims to connect artistic worlds that often remain separate, creating exchange opportunities between artists and audiences. The program was developed with the contribution of Francesca Cattoi.
