TBA21's Ephemeropterae and Tidalectics Explore Oceanic Sciences in Vienna
The TBA21 foundation in Vienna launches its sixth edition of Ephemeropterae, a summer series of one-day events from June 2 to September 15, 2017, held every Friday evening on a wooden stage designed by David Adjaye in the Augarten park. The theme is 'Oceanic Sciences' and 'Aquatic Soundscape,' featuring 24 niche artists and scientists presenting their research through words and sound performances. Concurrently, the foundation opens 'Tidalectics,' the first exhibition of the TBA21-Academy section, curated by Stefanie Hessler, showcasing 13 artists exploring cultural, political, and biological perspectives on oceans. The exhibition runs daily except Mondays and Tuesdays until November 19, 2017. TBA21, founded by Francesca d'Asburgo, also supported Olafur Eliasson's Green Light Workshop at the Venice Biennale. The curatorial team includes Daniela Zyman, Boris Ondreička, Stefanie Hessler, and Markus Reymann.
