Taylor Farms Recalls Salsas and Guacamole Over Salmonella Risk

Taylor Fresh Foods, the company behind Taylor Farms brand products, announced on Sunday a recall of more than 20 prepared food items containing jalapeño peppers due to potential salmonella contamination. The recall follows a similar action by its pepper supplier, Coast Citrus Distributors, which recalled its fresh jalapeños over the same concern. The affected products include salsas and guacamole sold at major retailers across the United States. Consumers are advised to check for the recalled items and discard them or return them for a refund. The company stated that no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. The move is part of a broader food safety effort to prevent salmonella infections, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal illnesses in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
