Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar Returns with Multidisciplinary Focus

The second edition of Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar opened in Doha, gathering photographers from the MENASA region. Established by Qatar Museums and launched during Qatar Creates, the festival includes five showcases. At Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Shaima al-Tamimi's 'As If We Never Came' explores identity through family photographic archives, while 'I Am The Traveler And Also The Road' features works by 2021 and 2022 Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project Award grantees, including Rula Halawani's 'For You Mother' series on Palestinian occupation. At Al Koot Fort, Hadeer Omar, Michael Hersrud, and Simone Muscolino (Sonic Jeel) present 'And Thereafter', an immersive installation inspired by Souq Waqif. Tasweer runs until 20 May 2023.
