Taschen Publishes Francis Kéré Monograph 'Building Stories' on April 22, 2026

Taschen will release the monograph 'Francis Kéré: Building Stories' on April 22, 2026. The book presents 26 projects by the Burkinabè-German architect, including his first widely recognized work, the Gando Primary School in Burkina Faso from 2001, which earned him the Aga Khan Award. Other featured projects are the 2017 Serpentine Pavilion in London's Kensington Gardens, the Las Vegas Museum of Art, and his inaugural South American project, the Biblioteca dos Saberes library in Rio. The publication offers sketches, photographs, and drawings, providing a firsthand account of Kéré's creative process in his own voice. Known for sustainable architecture that blends modern engineering with traditional techniques, Kéré uses local materials like clay and wood for schools, clinics, and public structures. His socially committed approach is experimental, communal, and affordable, empowering communities through low-tech, environmentally considerate designs. Kéré, who won the Pritzker Prize in 2022, demonstrates that high-quality buildings can be achieved with limited resources, redefining sustainable architecture globally.
