Tarsia Project Space Opens Inside a Plant Shop in Naples
Tarsia, a new project space, has opened inside a plant shop owned by Ditta Molisso in Naples. The space, carved entirely into tuff stone, is the result of a friendship between artist/surgeon Antonio Della Corte and the shop's managers, brothers Antonio and Ciro. It is conceived as a performative and suggestive environment where contemporary artistic expression interacts with the architecture and poetry of the location. The inaugural exhibition features works by Veronica Bisesti, Steev Lemercier, Eleonora Meoni, Zoe Metra, Marta Orlando, Gennaro Roviello, and Maria Adele Del Vecchio, who also acts as curator. Additional artists include Carla Cuomo, Alexia Caunille, Isis Lherm, Maria Papadimitriou, and Clementine Roy. Eleonora Meoni presented a performance/cocktail. The project is part of a broader cultural ferment in the neighborhood, rooted in the Quartiere dell'Arte initiative launched in 2004 by Peppe Morra, Pasquale Persico, Francesco Coppola, Roberto Paci Dalò, and Nicoletta Ricciardelli, promoted by the Fondazione Morra. This initiative aims to revitalize democracy through renewed connections of belonging, participation, economy, and politics.
