Tarik Kiswanson's First German Solo Show at Portikus

From 8 June to 8 September 2024, Portikus in Frankfurt will showcase 'Tarik Kiswanson: A Century,' marking the artist's inaugural solo exhibition in Germany. The display delves into personal and collective narratives, emphasizing themes of war and renewal throughout the past century. Featured works include 'A Century' (2024), which incorporates wooden walking sticks, 'The Rupture' (2024), showcasing a 1924 Onoto pen, and 'The Silence' (2024), which features an inverted UN helmet. Additionally, 'Anamnesis' (2023) symbolizes his childhood residence, while 'Foresight' (2024) juxtaposes the life stories of George Nakashima and Adolf Gustav Schneck. Tarik Kiswanson (b. 1986, Halmstad), a Paris-based artist and winner of the 2023 Prix Marcel Duchamp, is set to exhibit at The Common Guild in Glasgow in October 2024.
