Tarek Atoui to Create Hyundai Commission for Tate Modern, Jo-Lene Ong Joins Buro Stedelijk, SeMA Expands Network
From October 13 until April 11, 2027, Tarek Atoui will showcase the 11th Hyundai Commission at the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern. This initiative, backed by Hyundai Motor Company since 2014, encourages artists to develop works tailored to the site. Atoui, a composer hailing from Beirut, is known for transforming environments into immersive experiences through his unique instruments. Catherine Wood has commended his inventive sound techniques. Additionally, Jo-Lene Ong will begin her three-year role as curator at Amsterdam's Buro Stedelijk on March 1, emphasizing anticolonial viewpoints. In March, the Seoul Museum of Art will launch the Seo-Seoul Museum of Art, featuring a solo exhibition by Heecheon Kim. Cuturi Gallery will also debut a new location in Paris in March, presenting "Decadence and Decay" until May 16.
